By Anita Jaynes on January 01, 2014

Wiltshire based organic cleaning company, Greenhills Cleaning Ltd have recently won a Small Business Sunday Award from ex Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis.

Green Hills Cleaning specialises in high quality organic cleaning services using zero chemicals. They offer domestic, business; end of tenancy and holiday let cleaning, accompanied by a comprehensive laundry and ironing service.

Each Sunday Theo rewards small businesses that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their business in one tweet using the hashtag #SBS. Only tweets sent between 5pm and 7.30pm each Sunday count. Theo then reviews all of the entries and chooses his top six. As he has over 400,000 Twitter followers this provides a massive boost to the chosen business.

Owner Amy Bedford recently took part in the competition by tweeting : “@TheoPaphitis We have doubled our turnover & our staff in last 9 months. Going to do the same in the next 9… http://greenhillscleaning.co.uk #SBS

Amy was invited to the ICC Arena in Birmingham to attend a Small Business Sunday event hosted by Theo and sponsored by Ryman Stationary, RAC Business, DHL, iLaw, and Bartercard.

Amy said:“It was an amazing day! It was surreal with around 800 people in the same room all tweeting each other, trying to find friends, with the tweets appearing on 2 big screens above a huge stage.”

“Theo himself was an inspiration. During his 2 hour presentation he joked, advised and mentored his audience whilst at the same time plugging his own businesses and teasing his staff.  His positivity and enthusiasm earned him round after round of applause and his encouragement has changed my thinking and given me a huge boost of confidence, ready to take my business to the next level.”

“After generously giving over 2 hours of his time, he then waited patiently for the longest line of people I have ever seen to have their photo taken with him.  His smile and geniality never faltered.  When it was my turn, he shook my hand and was genuinely interested in who I was and what I did, remarking just as the photo was taken: “Oh yes, I’ve been reading your tweets this morning”  which was the icing on the cake to a very proud moment, said Amy.
