It’s not long until The Business Exchange hosts its annual technology awards for Swindon and Wiltshire, The Techies, on Thursday 4th November.
Ahead of awards night we spoke to Emma Carter, Managing Director of Swindon-based Smarter Media. Smarter Media are a finalist in the Tech Team of the Year award category, sponsored by Thrings law.
Smarter Media is a digital growth agency. Working side by side with clients, the team uses their ‘Smarter Way Process’ to create a plan that delivers results and they offer their ‘Smarter Promise’ to share what they do, why they do it and the outcomes both good and bad.
Since mid-2020, Smarter Media has continued its its quarter on quarter growth, delivering a 47 per cent increase across the year. Alongside delivering consistent results for their clients and their “Help Wiltshire Grow” initiative, they have invested over £50k back into the team, process improvements and lead generation.
How does it feel to be a finalist?
Chuffed to pieces. The fact the team are being recognised for their hard work by an external source is wonderful. I hear our clients tell us all the time how fab the team are, so it’s great to have them acknowledged independently.
What are you planning for awards night?
Most of the team want to stay in the office for the evening and make it a special night, whether we wear black tie or pyjamas is still up for debate! Either way, dinner and drinks aplenty.
What would a Techie Award mean to you and your team?
I am immensely proud of my team. But it’s like when your mum tells you you look good or a friend, the outside commentary carries more meaning. It’s been a really interesting 12-18 months with Covid, positive testing, delivery of client results, operational pressures and recruitment challenges. It’ll be wonderful to celebrate all that we have achieved in that time.
How are you sharing the news with your networks?
Shared on all our Smarter Social Media channels – with the amazing video of Anita at the forefront – and then shared by individual team members too. Using the Finalist logo in our emails and a press release is going out to the local news channels this week.
On awards night Smarter Media are up against six other firms, A2Z Cloud, Digital Wonderlab, Cervus Defence, Computer Network Defence, Green Machine Computers and ISN. To see the full list of Techies 2021 finalists click here.
