The property’s Ludlow office, located to the west of the Mansion house on the ground floor with its own entrance, has recently become available. The Ludlow provides an impressive and spacious workspace, packed with original period features and beautiful views across the front lawn and quad garden.

To showcase the potential of this exceptional office space, the team at Heywood House will be holding an Open Day on Thursday 22nd February, from 12pm-2pm.

The Ludlow room was not part of the original Jacobean house design built by Sir James Ley in 1603. In 1837, the house was deemed too small for Victorian eyes, and the philanthropist Henry Gaisford Gibbs Ludlow (owner at the time) commissioned young architect Harvey Eginton to carry out an extensive programme of refurbishment including the addition of extending the Mansion to accommodate a chapel (now referred to as the Ludlow room).

Over the years, the many owners of Heywood House have utilised the Ludlow room in various ways from a private chapel to a games room for entertaining, complete with a billiard table.

During the 1960s when the estate was a summer school for students from overseas, the room was turned into a gymnasium which led through to the swimming pool.

The Ludlow room now provides a large, open plan office space, conveniently situated next to the Conservatory café.

For anyone keen to step inside Heywood House ahead of the Open Day, Business West will be hosting their Networking Breakfast in the Main Hall on Tuesday 13th February from 8am-10am.

The event is open to all, but tickets must be booked in advance.
