Holbrook House in central Swindon has undergone a transformation with a new-look reception area and much improved common parts.

Upgrades to Holbrook House include a new suspended ceiling incorporating LED lighting, air conditioning, fully accessible raised floors, and new carpet and redecoration throughout the first and second floors.

Jason Tannen of owners DTCT is pleased that the area offers a much more positive welcome for occupiers and visitors alike. He said, “We have taken on board feedback from our letting agents and tenants and continued to invest in Holbrook House in an environmentally sustainable way. Our intention when conceiving the design for the building entrance evolved greatly since the pandemic began. Pre-pandemic, our focus was on modernisation and the usage of grey tones. However, we now place greater emphasis on the core principles of our Socially Responsible Investment (SRI) policy – specifically recycling quality materials and creating more natural environments that are better for the mental health and wellbeing of all people working in our buildings. The usage of different wooden tones in our reception area and the retention of our vintage marble walls has created the more natural tones we sought after and has a lower carbon footprint compared to the pre-pandemic refurbishment plan. Going forward, we continue to prioritise these SRI principles in our refurbishment programs. We also recently undertook a significant refurbishment programme to the office suites within Holbrook House”.

Comments on the newly refurbished reception area from the buildings tenants IMSM and GWR include, “Much more welcoming for our staff and fresh”, “creates a nice impression for our staff at the start of their working day”.

Daniel Smethurst of Smethurst Property Consultants, said, “We are seeing a drive from applicants to have better quality office accommodation for their staff and the significant improvements to the entrance area and other common parts really enhances what Holbrook House has to offer.”

James Gregory, joint letting agent at Alder King, added, “With a variety of suites ranging in size from 1,200 sq ft up to a single floorplate of 8,000 sq ft, we are able to cater for many different company needs. Situated just two minutes walk from Swindon train station with regular journey times of just over 45 minutes to London Paddington, the offices have many benefits”.

Facilities include:

  • Twin passenger lifts
  • Air conditioning on first and second floors
  • Flexible floor plates for cellular or open plan layout
  • Male and female WCs on each floor
