The Swindon Trauma Group is to hold its 9th Annual Conference this Friday (5 October).
The event – which takes place from 9am to 5.30pm in the Uffington Suite of the Swindon Marriott Hotel – aims to highlight the difficulties experienced by employees suffering from Post Traumatic Stress (P.T.S) and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (P.T.S.D).
The cost of attending – including refreshments and free parking – is £35-00 per attendee with the price of £20-00 for STG member.
According to Dick Hilling, spokesperson for the Swindon Trauma Group, PTS and PTSD remain very much “Invisible Injuries” with many senior people, particularly in the NHS, “confusing hypervigilance with paranoid behaviour.”
This year’s conference will focus on the centenary of the First World War and 100 years of RAF Psychiatry. Speakers’ presentations will vary, from ‘how Classical Music can reduce anxiety and lift mood’ to ‘post-trauma growth.’
