The generous team at leading independent recruiter 24-7 Staffing have got on board with their fundraising and netted more than £500 for Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
By making a monthly donation over the last financial year, staff at the Chippenham-based firm raised £565.
“We pick a charity every year and those who want to participate make a donation every month,” said 24-7 Staffing Managing Director Julian Thompson. “We then have a monthly draw, and half the prize money is won by a member of the team and the other half goes to a charity.
“Wiltshire Air Ambulance is a great, local cause. We now need to decide which charity to support for the current financial year. Others we have helped in the past include Business Against Poverty.”
Established in 1990, Wiltshire Air Ambulance needs to raise £3.75 million a year to keep its lifesaving service operational. The charity relies on generous donations from the public, as it receives no regular direct Government funding or National Lottery grants.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance fundraising manager, Des Regan, added,“It’s been a really tough time for all charities as the Coronavirus pandemic forced us to cancel all fundraising events in 2020, costing us around £500,000 in income. That said, we have been taken aback by the response from the public and locally based businesses, like 24-7 Staffing in Chippenham, who we can’t thank enough for deciding to support our charity.”
