On the run up to Christmas this year, each day from 12th-24th December, The Business Exchange Swindon and Wiltshire is putting the spotlight on a local charity and its work.
Anita Jaynes, Founder of The Business Exchange, said, “It’s the season of giving and perpetual hope and it makes sense to use our reach to help raise awareness of some amazing causes in our community and their work.
“The Business Exchange is all about connecting people and organisations for good and corporate social responsibility is important to me personally. The not-for-profit space is particularly tough at the moment and needs all the help it can get.”
Today we put the spotlight on SSAFA Wiltshire, the Wiltshire branch of SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
Established in 1885, SAAFA provides lifelong support to those who are serving or have served in the British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Marines or the Royal Air Force, and to their families. SSAFA’s support also includes anyone who has completed National Service.
SSAFA helps the armed forces community in a number of ways, through its focus on providing direct support to individuals in need of physical or emotional care.
Addiction, relationship breakdown, debt, homelessness, post-traumatic stress, depression and disability are all issues that can affect members of the Armed Forces community. Many of these problems only become apparent when an individual has to leave their life in the Forces and join ‘Civvy Street’. SSAFA is committed to helping our brave men and women overcome these problems and rebuild their lives.
The Business Exchange organises The Business Exchange South West Charity Conference & Expo. Back for a fifth year in 2023, the event is set to return to Bath Racecourse on Thursday 15th June.
