Employees from Selwood Housing Group have raised over £460 for Trowbridge children’s charity, Stepping Stones.
Children, parents and staff from Stepping Stones were presented with a giant cheque at Longfield Children’s Centre by staff from Selwood Housing Group.
Stepping Stones provides support for children with special educational needs from across West Wiltshire and encourages children to learn through play.
Barbara Jansen from Stepping Stones said: “We were delighted that Selwood Housing Group chose our small local charity to support and are very grateful for all the time and effort that has gone into the many fundraising events that have taken place.
“This money will be used to purchase IT and Sensory Equipment to support all the Pre-school children with special needs who attend our group. It is only with the support of our local community and businesses that we have been able to continue to provide a specialist facility for children with special needs in West Wilshire.”
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who took part in any of the fundraising events.”
Julia Latham from Selwood Housing Group’s social committee, Selwood Spirit added: “We are proud to support such a fantastic local charity like Stepping Stones who provide valuable support for children with special educational needs in the local area.
“We hosted a number of events including cake sales, a bring and buy sale, cream teas for Wimbledon and even hosted our very own ‘Wii Olympics’ to raise the money. It doesn’t take too long to organise and it is great fun to do!”
