A new marketing campaign by VisitWIltshire is highlighting Salisbury as the perfect short break and day visit destination.
The £250K campaign aims to drive additional visits throughout the early 2019 season and generate additional tourism visits and spend throughout the year.
Funded by VisitWiltshire, Salisbury tourism businesses and partners, VisitEngland’s Discover England Fund, and supported by VisitBritain, the main target market is domestic leisure visitors aged 45 and over. Additional elements of the campaign will also target younger audiences and international visitors.
Campaign messaging will encompass history and heritage, independent shopping, food and drink, events, arts, culture and festivals, activities and evening entertainment. Accommodation options for visitors around the city will also be included.
Fiona Errington, Marketing Manager for VisitWiltshire, said, “We know Salisbury is a fantastic place to visit and to enjoy a short break. This campaign will provide the city with a high-profile national platform to showcase all the positive things it has to offer visitors throughout the year.”
Salisbury will be promoted on VisitEngland’s and VisitBritain’s digital channels to reach national and international audiences as well as via VisitWiltshire e-newsletters to nearly 100,000 potential visitors.
100,000 copies of a new foldout map of the city, supported by 20 Salisbury tourism businesses and partners, will be distributed to target visitors within a two-hour travel time.
