The Swindon and Wiltshire business community has been represented at the national Great British Expos Community and Business Awards.

Held in April at a gala event in Reading, the Awards shined a spotlight on individuals, businesses and organisations across the country who are blazing a trail and realising their full potential.

Digital marketing expert Rob Curtis, Simon Crisp from Green Machine Computers and Rachael Matwiejczyk Booth were just some of the region’s winners.

Rob Curtis from Swindon started his company The Pursuit Agency a year ago and was named Start Up of the Year.

He said, “I’m overwhelmed and humbled to receive such an honour. I was so thrilled to be nominated and very grateful to be there with my wife, friends and business friends too. It was so unexpected to actually win.

“I’d like to thank everyone who has helped me to hit the ground running in my business in these early days. It takes a huge leap of faith to go it alone – and you definitely cannot do it alone.”

The Pursuit Agency has embodied impressive success since it started just over 12 months ago. In that time, it has already proven significant financial competency, making a profit in the company’s first month of existence.

On the company’s LinkedIn page, he wrote, “We’re still buzzing from The Great British Business Awards, where we had the pleasure of celebrating some of the best businesses in the UK. The event was an amazing opportunity to network and connect with innovative and inspiring people from different industries.

“We’re so grateful for the recognition and support we received, and we want to extend the same support to our fellow businesses. Let’s work together to create a stronger, more vibrant business community that supports and uplifts each other.”

Rarely do you find business leaders who are as compassionate, caring and selfless. Simon is a unique business leader and he genuinely cares about the wellbeing of his staff. The company culture that Simon has created is a very altruistic one. Under his leadership the company has grown and is making a huge impact nationally. What a great example of authentic leadership!
