A charity quiz night organised by Wiltshire’s Gooding Accounts has raised £3,000 for Wiltshire Mind.

The total sets the accountancy firm on the road to raising £50,000 for charity during 2024 as part of its 10th anniversary celebrations.

The sell-out quiz night at Trowbridge Rugby Club on Friday 1st March was enjoyed by almost 200 guests, raising thousands to help fund the life-changing work Wiltshire Mind undertakes in the community.

Wiltshire Mind supports those experiencing mental health problems and emotional distress. The charity relies on voluntary donations from the local community to help fund their work including adult counselling, peer support groups and wellbeing programmes.

Partner, Sam Gooding, said, “We’re thrilled that the event was such a success and would like to thank everyone who came along to support us and this fantastic local charity.”

Paul Mills, Chief Executive of Wiltshire Mind, added, “The money raised at the event makes a huge difference to our communities across Wiltshire in providing mental health and wellbeing support. Demand for our support continues to rise year on year, so on behalf of our beneficiaries, a massive thank you to the Gooding Accounts team and everyone who supported the quiz night. The £3,000 will go directly into providing support locally”.

Gooding Accounts, which has offices in Melksham, Westbury and Warminster, will be hosting a range of fundraising events across Wiltshire during the year including a Charity Golf Day, Summer Party and Sportsman’s Dinner. The team will also be taking on a range of personal challenges including ultra marathons, mountain climbs and a skydive.

The popular Quiz Night will return on Friday 8th November, with tickets on sale later in the year.
