Fundraisers being asked to join in the Space Station Pudsey fun

By Nick Batten on 27 October, 2023

Local Children in Need fundraising groups and employers of all sizes are being urged to get involved in the Return to Space Station Pudsey event being staged at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon on Friday 17th November.

The event will feature Cybermen, Daleks and characters from beyond time and space including popular alien figures from Star Wars and Doctor Who. There will be a stage area which will include Space Station presenters and ex-BBC broadcasters Graham Seaman and Mark Jones who will be interviewing fundraisers from across Swindon and Wiltshire, generous shoppers, local businesses and guests.

This will be the third Space Station Pudsey event in the town and the second staged at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Swindon, and will feature the Lost Daleks which were last seen in public 20 years ago at Space Station Pudsey 2. But the organising team are keen for the community to get involved.

Tina Cumpstey, General Manager of the McArthurGlen Swindon Designer Outlet said, “We would love local fundraisers to get in touch and visit Return to Space Station Pudsey on 17th November. Come along and tell us about your fundraising event and how much you made for Children in Need. It is a real opportunity for the general public to hear from you and to recognise your efforts – so please get in touch.”

Anita Jaynes, Founder of The Business Exchange and one of the co-organisers added, “This is a fantastic opportunity for schools, community groups and businesses to beam on board and let everyone know what they are doing to help BBC Children in Need this year. Many employers in the area allow fundraising activities in work time and what fun to tell us about your fundraiser in front of a crowd at the Designer Outlet Swindon. This may encourage others to get involved on the day as well.”

If you want to let the organisers know about your event please get in touch at  press@tbesw.co.uk
