Alzheimer’s Research UK to benefit from Cardwave’s November charity donation

Cardwave, the Devizes based technology services company has helped boost much needed funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK this month.

Every month a Cardwave employee decides where Cardwave should donate £100 of it’s charity pot. For November production assistant Louise Thicker selected Alzheimer’s Research UK. Louise said: “Alzheimer’s disease is the most common cause of dementia and affects around 500,000 people in the UK alone. Dementia research is very underfunded – almost ten times less than research for other major diseases – so donations are very important.”

Founded in 1992, Alzheimer’s Research UK is the leading dementia research charity in the UK. Scientists are constantly working to gain a better understanding of the disease, so they can improve diagnosis and develop new treatments. Not only does this research further the search for a cure, but it enables scientists to develop drugs which can help ease the symptoms. This can make a huge difference to the people suffering from Alzheimer’s, as well as their families.
