Westbury-based Paper Bag Co., a company that delivers sustainable bespoke and wholesale paper bags to some of the UK’s leading brands, has been acquired by Rawlings Group

The news follows a successful year for the Wiltshire firm which has a new website awaiting launch and a range of significant upcoming projects planned.

Rawlings is based in Bristol and specialises in glass packaging supplies. Today, as the largest independent glass packaging supplier in the UK, Rawlings Group prides itself on sustainability and environmentally positive packaging.

Since its inception 18 years ago, Paper Bag Co. has worked with household name brands (including Schuh, Audi and Converse) as well as many independent brands and retailers to create custom bags and packaging that are made from certified sustainable material.

Jon Marling, Founder and Managing Director of Paper Bag Co., said, “Rawlings Group was the perfect option to continue our journey on a larger platform. The Rawlings team’s ethos and purpose is very much aligned to ours and we are looking forward to developing our people and growing our positive impact synergies in the future.

“On a personal note, it has been a time of reflection for the team at Paper Bag Co. Since the first hire in 2006, the workforce has grown massively and we have developed a great team and some long-standing relationships with some of the UK’s biggest brands. With the resources and support of being part of a bigger group, we will embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.”

Moving forward, Paper Bag Co. will continue to maintain its market-leading position and strive towards the goal of delivering sustainable packaging to a range of clients across different industries.

A spokesperson for the company added, “Being part of the Rawlings Group means we will be able to draw upon a range of experience from their fantastic team, and we look forward to the next chapter at Paper Bag Co.”

It is understood that South West legal firm RWK Goodman advised shareholders of Paper Bag Co. on the acquisition.
