AM to PM with Richard Jaggs, Resolution Design

By Ben Carey on 14 March, 2024

AM to PM takes a sneak peek at the daily routines of some of our business community’s top professionals.

Richard Jaggs is Managing Director of Resolution Design, an integrated creative marketing agency based in Devizes, Wiltshire. It specialises in fuelling the growth of small and medium-sized businesses.

Here’s a one-day glimpse at working diary, from rise and shine to lights out.

What time does your alarm go off

I normally wake around 7.30am without an alarm… but I have one as a backup.

What’s the first thing you do?

Make a cup of tea and think about the day ahead, check my diary and any messages and emails. Mornings are good, everything is ahead.

What do you do for lunch?

I try to take a break from work and more recently I have been going to the gym for a quick workout, which helps my energy levels in the afternoon.

What do you love most about your job?

The people. I love working with the Resolution team and with our diverse range of clients, who tend to be SMEs. It provides purpose and it’s extremely rewarding when we are making a real difference to their marketing and delivering great work.

What’s the worst part of the job?

That’s hard, there isn’t a worst part. Work can be challenging certainly, but overcoming challenges is also great. I suppose I don’t like it when good people inevitably move on.

What gadget could you not live without?

So many! Top of the list is my iPhone, it’s comms and entertainment central – I’d be lost without it.

What do you do after work?

I play in a tennis league or I head to the gym. I enjoy cooking, films, books… and I love being outdoors – I’ll do a good deal of walking or gardening if there is light.

If you changed direction, what would be your Plan B?

I’d like to continue to apply my many years of experience of marketing in some way, and take more time for experiences outside of work.
