Wiltshire Friendly Society which has been a provider of income replacement insurance in the community for over 130 years, is looking to appoint two Non-executive Board Members.
The organisation is a mutual insurance society run by a Board of Management for the benefit of over 3,500 memberships.
Wiltshire Friendly Society is looking to develop the Board of Management by recruiting individuals with specific skills and experience in the following:
- Accounting and Finance at a senior level. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of Strategy development and review, Financial Statements and Risk Management across different sectors.
- Business Management at a senior level. You will have experience of oversight over business operations and controls and been influential in commercial decisions.
As a Board member, you would contribute to the future strategy of the Society and be influential in the implementation of the operational plan, also contributing to the effective running of the business in accordance with the Society’s rules and legislation.
You would need to be able to commit to a minimum of eight meetings in a year, the corresponding basic annual fee you will receive being £5,884.
Additional remuneration is dependent on your commitment and contribution above that minimum requirement, as there is an expectation that you will also be available to join Board Committee meetings and respond and contribute to topical discussion.
You would also be expected to attend meetings in person at the Society’s office, so you must live within one hour’s travel of Trowbridge.
The successful candidates would take up the positions from 1st March 2023, giving time for the Regulatory due diligence process to be completed.
