The second of three events aimed at business owners thinking of selling is being staged in Swindon this month by Banks, Chartered Accountants.
The free Sale of a Business seminar is targeted at anyone considering selling their business, or planning their exit strategy for retirement. It will be held at Banks’s Stratton offices on Wednesday February 26, from 5.45pm for a 6-7pm seminar followed by buffet.
The seminar follows on from Banks’s Value of a Business event held last year. The third in the series, focussing on retirement planning, will be staged on June 18.
Guest speakers are Ian Parker, of Henchards who specialise in business wealth, and David Fawcus, of corporate finance lead advisory services Fawcus Corporate.
“The Value of a Business event we held last year proved popular, as it helped business owners focus on where to start when it comes to moving on from their business. This second event will look at the process of actual selling, then in June we’ll look more at retirement planning,” said Banks director Richard Mathews. “David and Ian were the experts at our last event and we’re delighted they are able to come along again.”
Ian Parker has 20 years’ experience with blue chip companies including four years as customer relations director at Orange. For the past ten years he has been running his own company helping owners improve, grow and prepare to sell their businesses. David Fawcus is an experienced corporate finance lead adviser, working for clients along the M4 corridor for more than 20 years. Fawcus Corporate mainly works on exit assignments with SMEs. During 2012, David acted as corporate finance lead advisor on a private equity transaction that was awarded the UK/Italian cross border Deal of the Year by Acquisition International.
