Nationwide has recently announced the appointment of Ann Brown as HR Director.

Ann was previously UK Senior Vice President for HR at Capgemini, one of the largest global consulting, technology and outsourcing firms.  With over 30 years’ experience in HR, Ann has held HR director and group HR director positions across a range of sectors and industries – she was HR director for Cable & Wireless, before moving to Colt Telecom as group HR director, and then joining Capgemini in 2001.

Ann is also a visiting fellow at Kingston University Business School and actively supports university initiatives to encourage women into STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths).  She has a strong track record of leading the digital transformation agenda in large HR functions, developing HR capability and transforming HR’s contribution to the achievement of corporate objectives.

Ann has received industry recognition and awards for both internal innovation and externally as a driving force in the development of youth skills in the IT industry, including the development of higher apprenticeship programme standards.

Ann Brown said: “I am delighted to be joining Nationwide’s HR division at such an exciting time where people and culture are at the forefront of the Society’s agenda. Nationwide is one of the most trusted financial services organisations in the UK. Its strong focus on people and culture has been instrumental in helping the Society differentiate itself as a modern mutual with traditional values.

“This is an exciting time to join and I look forward to helping attract, retain and train the very best talent in the sector to help us achieve our aim of becoming the first choice for financial services.”
