Jessica Pillow of Chippenham-based Pillow May chartered accountants, has launched her own practice management software to the market, mTrio with the incorporation of her new company Mint Trio Ltd.
Jessica started her career with Deloitte and PKF before becoming a partner at a Wiltshire-based practice until she started her own firm, Pillow May, in 2009. Having worked in accounting for a number of years and using different systems Jessica has always strived to take the mundane work out of compliance and running a practice so that she can spend time with her clients on helping them grow their business.
As Jessica started to use the newer more innovative cloud software systems within Pillow May, she found it annoying, time consuming and risky to keep having to check the data was consistent across the practice. She also felt that some of the tasks that she was doing were repetitive and could be automated, thus freeing up her staff to concentrate on more meaningful work.
In line with many accountants, Jessica has a number remote-working team members so she also needed a system that helps provide the same service for her clients regardless of the staff location. Because Salesforce is cloud native it was the obvious choice to enable Jessica and her team to be kept up to date and allow collaboration.
After discussing the problem with her client, The App Collective, they agreed to help build an integrated solution based upon the Salesforce platform. Salesforce is the world’s biggest CRM package used by many multinational companies and does more than just keep contact details. The App Collective took Jessica’s design brief and turned it into a usable and time saving software package that Jessica implemented into her practice.
Jessica has a great network of other accountants who have been keen to see what they have developed and have also offered ideas and thoughts that have been added to the software. Because of the positive comments that other professionals have given, Jessica was inspired to keep improving the software.
Over the last eighteen months The App Collective, as well as Jessica and her team, have worked closely to refine and improve the software to such a position that they are now ready to launch the software for other practices to be able to buy and install too.
The App Collective comprises of Simon Goodyear and Ross Layton. Simon is one of Salesforce.com MVPs, a certified Salesforce instructor who holds all of the admin and developer certifications. Well-known and respected in the community Simon has been working with the platform for over six years. Ross has also worked with Salesforce for over ten years primarily in the financial service vertical. He has a proven track record in delivering force.com solutions to global banks, large UK non-profits and a number of small businesses. Both Simon and Ross are now directors of the newly formed software company Mint Trio Ltd with Jessica. The fourth member of the team is the business development director, Ashley Leeds, who has eight years’ experience working with accountants and their software. Ashley brings with him a deep understanding of the accounting software market as well as a thought full insight to the workings of the busy practice.
Business development director Ashley said: “mTrio was designed from the ground up by accountants to simplify their working practice. Built on the renowned Salesforce platform to give powerful features wrapped in an intuitive easy to use package.
mTrio integrates with other software in your practice meaning a more streamlined process and a reduction in the individual maintenance of separate databases. No more jumping in and out of different software to check things and update information.
Developed with the accountant in mind it will track jobs, manage emails, automate engagement letters, speed up on-boarding process, record time, plan jobs, automatically chase clients and many other time saving features to put the user in control.
The initial market reaction is fantastic with four pioneering companies coming on board as trailblazers shortly.”
