Trade Horizons Roadshow Swindon

June 28, 2018 @ 9:30 am - 5:00 pm

On June 28, Export for Growth will be delivering The Trade Horizons Roadshow at Steam Museum. It has been designed to prepare businesses in Swindon for the challenges and opportunities that Brexit will inevitably bring. Ultimately its aim is to encourage and support businesses in order to take advantage of potential future international sales opportunities, through a selection of keynote speakers and free expert advice.

Attend the interactive Swindon leg of the roadshow to hear from Innocent Drinks’ Head of Brand, Dan Germain, who will share his export story and provide practical insight on how his businesses are preparing for Brexit. Dan will be joined on stage by Brexit expert, Sam Lowe from The Centre for European Reform, who will focus on life outside the European Union and explain the customs implications that may affect your business.

On the day, you’ll also hear from Andrew Grill, a practical futurist who will give an overview of current and predicted global trends, emerging markets, and the positive impact of ‘disruption’ in a digital age; as well as Brexit strategist, Katrina McWhinnie who will present her views on why Brexit is an opportunity that needs to be seized.

Following the keynote sessions, you are free to explore the Export Advice Zones where you can access a wide range of free support tailored to the needs of your business.

James Monk, Commercial Director, Business West said:

“The Roadshow is a fantastic way to help companies in the region understand more around the challenges and opportunities that Brexit brings; not just within the Europe but across the rest of the world.

At Business West we can do much more for companies than just provide support through Export for Growth and the Department for International. As one of the country’s leading and largest Chamber of Commerce, we can provide export documentation and help companies with fulfilment of orders, getting their goods into the marketplace and work with both the banks and with Letter of Credits to ensure companies are paid.

The Trade Horizons Roadshow is another example of Business West going the extra mile to ensure companies are prepared for what Brexit brings. The region has seen the light; it can see what exporting can do for both its business and economy. We’re confident that we can guide the South West through Brexit with events like this and continue to grow its export activity in the future.”
