Museum & Art Swindon has unveiled a new website and branding with support from the town’s GEL Studios.
The venue, which aims to share Swindon’s stories through its diverse collections, adopted the new identity following a branding workshop at GEL Studios, where the team helped to modernise and realign the overall message of the museum.
Museum & Art Swindon was presented with a new look and feel that reflects the enthusiasm of the organisation to create an exciting community hub and to champion inclusivity.
The new website has been developed with diverse user needs in mind, featuring a clear and logical structure including an online store for merchandise and a secure donation portal.
The new brand and website are a testament of the commitment of both Museum & Art Swindon and GEL Studios to supporting the local area and championing accessibility across the arts sector.
Carly Smith, Creative Director at GEL Studios, said, “We wanted to create an identity for the new museum that has real meaning and purpose. The branding journey was focused on how Museum & Art Swindon positions itself. It explored what the museum has to offer to the community and beyond, from its collections and exhibitions through to the expert curators and the new venue too.
“Knowing that the new museum would be a vibrant destination, this guided key branding decisions from the very start of the project. The bright and accessible colour palette is energetic and representative of inclusion, coupled with the layered element that acknowledges Swindon’s history, which was equally as important to include in the new identity.
“We’ve loved working on such a fun, local brand. As members of the Swindon community, we feel proud to have played our part in bringing the next phase of Museum and Art Swindon’s history to life.”
