Regency Laundry relocates to Leafield Industrial Estate

Regency Laundry is set to move from Bath after signing a deal with HPH Commercial Property on a unit at the Leafield Industrial Estate in Corsham.

Established in 1879, the company provides a range of concierge laundry services to businesses across the region and currently employs 80 staff.

Having outgrown its current site on Bath’s Lower Bristol Road, Regency Laundry needed to find new premises from which to service its expanding client base.

The 15 year deal with a five year break clause is for 20,000 sq ft of space across three buildings.

Stuart Calder, Managing Director at Regency Laundry, said, “As part of our development plans, to allow us to grow the business, we need more space. This is something our current laundry in Bath simply cannot accommodate.

“Thankfully, our deal with HPH has given us the opportunity to invest in class-leading technologies and further advance the quality of service Regency Laundry offers.”

Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director of HPH, added, “Bath has long suffered a shortage of industrial space owing to its relatively poor road infrastructure, limited housing stock and resulting high industrial rents.

“Leafield Industrial Estate in Corsham is able to provide a suitable alternative near Bath with the added benefits of room for expansion, good transport links and lower overheads.

“This was a particularly challenging transaction during the pandemic as it involved the relocation of the existing business, acquisition of the freehold with a simultaneous lease agreement with Regency Laundry, followed by repairs and improvements to assist after the move.

“We are delighted to be working with Regency Laundry, providing them with the space they need to continue the development of their business. The fact that they have been in business for 125 years is testament to the quality of the services they provide and the strong relationships they have built with their clients.”
