High demand expected for warehouse unit with retail element

A rare chance for businesses looking for a retail warehouse or factory unit in a prominent roadside position has become available on the West Portway Industrial Estate on the outskirts of Andover.

The detached warehouse-style unit (approx. 11,579 sq ft) has a trade counter suitable for sales to the public, two-storey offices with reception, space for a showroom and a mezzanine floor for additional storage.

The unit, available through UK property consultancy Carter Jonas, also boasts good loading facilities. Previously used for Electrical Appliance wholesale and distribution and more recently including an element of sales of these items to the public, it was built in 1984 and extended in 2000.

Alison Williams, head of Carter Jonas’ south west industrial team, said: “There is a general lack of this type of property that has a retail element and is in such a good location among industrial premises. It is a great opportunity and we are expecting keen interest.

“West Portway is a popular and well-established industrial estate and home to the major national logistics operator Howard Tenens, as well as many other businesses including Plumb Centre and Parker Street.

“It is just two miles east of Andover, with direct access onto the A303 and other major routes via the A34.”
