A networking group shaped by those its targeting is launching in Swindon next month.
YES (Young Entrepreneurs Swindon) is a new initiative aimed at 18-35 year olds in Wiltshire wanting to connect, be inspired and to ignite ideas.
Funded by Swindon & Wiltshire Growth Hub and supported by Business West and The Business Exchange, the first event will take place at Desk CoWork in Old Town, Swindon on Thursday 13th June from 6:30pm – 8:00pm.
Young professionals and entrepreneurs can drop-in for a beer, relaxed conversation and listen to guest speaker, James Threlfall, the 25-year-old professional skateboarder and presenter talk about his journey so far, and how he was awarded an MBE for services to Young People in the New Year’s Honours list 2019.
In January, a number of local 18-35 year olds got together to share what they wanted from the network and the first event has been created around this. Attendees of the first gathering said they wanted to hear from people who are making their mark in business and the community as well as the opportunity to network in a relaxed setting.
The YES branding has been designed by Swindon-based creative agency Ottr Works. Its founders Ben Lawton and Dan Pettitt have been involved in the project from the beginning alongside Matt Greenwood, owner of Desk CoWork where the event is being hosted.
Dan Pettitt, said, “YES is a great place for like-minded individuals (not just entrepreneurs) to come together and collaborate, share ideas and just have a good time. We’ve been to so many networking events and felt like it was always an ‘old boys club’ – YES is striving to strike the hearts and accelerating ambitions behind the youth of today. Also, I think there’s free beer?”
Although the event is free to attend, booking is essential. Book on by clicking on this link. Follow the conversation on social media @yesswindon
