World-class mobile hydraulics provider moves to Cheney Manor

Danfoss Power Solutions a provider of specialist mobile hydraulics for the construction, agriculture and other off-highway vehicle markets has moved to Cheney Manor.

The business was attracted by the high quality, flexible services office space that Nexus Business Centre, based at Cheney Manor has to offer.

Danfoss left Cheney Manor in 2007 and moved to Dorcan when part of the business was sold to Dynamatic UK Ltd, which still occupies the original building across the road from Nexus.

Following a recent restructure, Danfoss needed to find new premises to accommodate their streamlined team.  With a ‘shopping list’ of requirements including flexible space, good telecoms and a bright, professional location, Danfoss looked at a number of serviced offices in the town.

Andy Whiteford, sales manager at Danfoss, said: “When we downsized we wanted to also take away the hassle of managing our own premises, so looked at serviced offices. We visited a number of places around Swindon and the town centre, however Nexus was the only one that met our needs fully.  The phone and broadband service is very good and reliable, the space is very flexible and there are no hidden costs.

“We can also use convenient meeting rooms on each floor and we were able to have two offices, with a connecting door fitted for us. Having a manned reception desk able to take all of our calls and post also makes a real difference to us and the impression our visitors get, as well as making it easy if we are all out at the same time.

“We didn’t intend on moving back to Cheney Manor specifically, but it is working out really well for the team here.”

A number of the Danfoss team worked for the company when it was previously based in Cheney Manor and can see their old offices from Nexus.

Maria Basson, operations director at Nexus, said: “As the Nexus building used to be the headquarters for Plessey, which was also part of Danfoss, it is very apt that this is where they chose to move to.

“At Nexus, we have a number of different size offices available that can meet the needs of almost any business.  If companies have specific requirements, like Danfoss did, we will work with them to make sure that we do as much as we can to give them exactly what they want.  We also have a café and plenty of parking to make business life easier for our tenants.”
