Earlier this year, Withy King committed to taking part in the Million Makers Challenge for The Prince’s Trust. The idea behind this is that The Prince’s Trust secure a number of corporates to sign up to the challenge, with each corporate committing to raise a minimum of £10,000 in a six month period.
Greg Callard, senior associate in the commercial property department at Withy King said: “I was at their launch event and felt compelled to sign up after hearing some inspiring stories and along with ten of my colleagues we have taken up the challenge.
“Our initiative is #bizfit. We are asking local businesses like you to get involved by entering a team to complete a 30 day step challenge, commencing on 1 September. Increasing activity just slightly throughout the day improves productivity in the workplace as well as improving individual fitness and wellbeing: the Government recommends we all take 10,000 steps a day to stay active and healthy.
Each team member will be given a pedometer and asked to log their steps throughout September at www.withyking.co.uk/bizfit with a leader board being updated daily.
At the end of the 30 day challenge the individual and team that have logged the most number of steps (averaged out against the number of members in their team) will win the challenge and an individual and team prize.
Every penny raised will be donated to the Prince’s Trust and all monies raised over £10,000 up to £15,000 will be match funded by Withy King, so we have a real opportunity to make a difference to young people’s lives.
Greg said: “We are really excited about engaging with the local business community to promote this initiative whilst raising money for an exceptional charity.”
