Winning success for Wiltshire house builder

By Anita Jaynes on 17 April, 2014

Wiltshire house builder, Hills Homes, has two reasons to celebrate as one of its latest developments, along with the site manager there,  have both been acknowledged in the 2014 Mendip District Council Building Excellence Awards.

The Building Excellence awards are endorsed by the Local Authority Building Control (LABC) a membership organisation representing all local authority building control departments in England and Wales.

Hills Homes is well known for its developments on sought after sites in Wiltshire and neighbouring counties and the company’s excellence in design, construction and workmanship extend to all its building projects.  It is those strengths that have been ‘highly commended’ in the category of new housing developments of 8 units or more at Mendip Gardens in Holcombe, Somerset.

Site manager Jan Pearce received the LABC site supervisor of the year award in recognition of his high standards of management of the Mendip Gardens site.  Reflecting on his award Jan modestly said: “It’s great to win the award but it should be shared by all those who have been involved at the site.”

The site manager and development awards will now progress to the regional South Western awards to be held later in the year.  Regional qualifiers culminate in the grand finals at an autumn ceremony in London.
