Wiltshire’s Nutricia sponsors national Carers’ Week

By Anita Jaynes on 8 June, 2015

Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition, based in Trowbridge, is sponsoring the national annual campaign to recognise the value of carers in our communities.

Running for the week, organisations up and down the UK will be holding events and raising awareness around the challenges faced by carers of all ages.

Events in Wiltshire include:

– Computers for Carers – Tuesday June 9, 10.30am to noon, run by the North Bradley Peace Memorial Trust Computer Club at the Peace Memorial Hall, Trowbridge. It’s free though a donation can be made to the trust.

– Family Picnic in the Park – Saturday June 13, run by Carer Support Wiltshire at Monkton Park, Wiltshire. For details call Julie Jackson on 01380 871690.

The theme for this year’s Carers Week (June 8 to June 14) is Carer Friendly Communities.

Nutricia Advanced Medical Nutrition is the market-leading provider of medical nutrition products and services for people whose health benefits from nutritional support.  It has worked with Carers UK as a partner for the last four years. In its pledge, it promises to support carers who use its service but also employees at its Wiltshire base who are themselves carers.

Kate Hall, external affairs manager, said: “Working in partnership for over four years, Carers UK and Nutricia have brought to light the previously hidden issue of the daily struggles carers face in ensuring their loved ones get the nutrition they need.

“This improves not only the quality of life for those they care for but also for the carers themselves and helps to build a more carer friendly community through an emphasis on improving nutritional care.”
