Wiltshire based income protection mutual, Wiltshire Friendly Society Limited (Wiltshire Friendly) has announced that Jon Gratland, currently a director of Glacier Point Consultancy Limited, has been appointed as Wiltshire Friendly’s new chief executive officer. He assumed the new role on November 1 2016. Jon has over three decades of experience in financial services, working previously with Axa Life, Eagle Star and Bristol & West, before forming his own business consultancy.
Jon said: “I am proud to have been selected as Wiltshire Friendly’s next CEO. It’s a privilege to lead an organisation that is focused on serving its membership. I look forward to further developing our team and growing our membership, implementing and building on the strategy we have in place.”
Wiltshire Friendly provides affordable income replacement plans to individuals, employers and professional rugby players. Located in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, its dedicated team gives a personal and knowledgeable service to its members both locally and nationally. Wiltshire Friendly is proud to be a member of the Association of Financial Mutuals (AFM). As a mutual, the Society is owned by its members and operates for their benefit. Established in 1887, Wiltshire Friendly currently has around 4,900 memberships and assets of around £16.5 million (December 2015).
Jon succeeds John Sanders, who has decided to step down as CEO after 12 years but remains in the business to lead a number of key projects within the Society’s strategy.
“I can think of no one better to lead Wiltshire Friendly into the future. Jon has both the required experience in financial services and has also worked closely with the Society over the last 10 years, being a key contributor in getting us to where we are today.” John Sanders, Wiltshire Friendly CEO.
Jon’s leadership appointment is part of a refreshing transformation for the mutual as it extends its reach into new markets and grows its membership.
