Time ticking for techies tickets

Businesses throughout Swindon, Wiltshire and beyond are invited to attend the region’s flagship technology awards event next month.

The Techies will once again be hosted at Corsham’s Hartham Park, home to the Corsham Institute, a not-for-profit organisation focusing on research, learning and enterprise in a digital society.

Last year over 120 people attended the event, representing an array of businesses which have helped the region to become recognised as the UK’s emerging tech-hub.

With sponsors including Swindon & Wiltshire LEP, Thrings, Basepoint, Elm Workspace and Britannia Quickmove, The Techies will offer plenty of opportunities for networking as well as the chance to enjoy some delicious food provided by Sweet Pea Catering at Hartham Park.

The main focus of the evening will of course be recognising those businesses and individuals who have gone above and beyond in their line of work, helping to fly the flag for Wiltshire tech.

Fluffy Puffin will be providing the refreshments during the interval, offering a selection of award-winning sorbets and ice creams served with a difference.

Anita Jaynes, owner of The Business Exchange and founder of the Techies, said, “Last year saw the launch of the Techies Awards and the long-overdue recognition of some of the best and brightest firms in our region. The judges were impressed with the level of nominations and the high standard of entries across all categories.

“This year we will continue to build on the event and we have already received lots of interest in terms of both nominations and tickets to attend. I would like to thank our sponsors and our judges for being part of The Techies 2019 and I’m very excited to see who the winners will be this year.

“Hartham Park is a brilliant venue synonymous with technology and innovation, so we are looking forward to returning again this year.”

The event will also support local charity Inner Flame which provides free courses to develop confidence, self-worth, life-skills and employability in 16-24 year olds who are at a disadvantage.

Tickets for The Techies are available online to anyone who would like to attend and enjoy the benefits of networking with the region’s best and most innovative technology firms. Tickets cost £40 (inclusive of VAT) and include a drink, bowl food, the award ceremony and entertainment.
