The Techies 2022: And the winners are…

By Anita Jaynes on 21 October, 2022

Last night (Thursday 20th October), Swindon’s state-of-the-art Sandstorm Studios played host to the Techies Awards Swindon and Wiltshire 2022.

The Techies celebrate the amazing tech innovation happening on our doorstep and shine a light on organisations, projects and individuals undertaking outstanding work in their fields.

This was the first year since 2019 that the awards could be held in person, with virtual and hybrid award ceremonies in 2020 and 2021. The resounding comment was “It’s great to finally be back in the room”, with over 120 guests in attendance.

Feedback included…

“It was fantastic to be back together in one (huge and awesome) room – what a venue Sandstorm Studios is!” Kate Westbrook, Techies judge and sponsor of the Tech Team of the Year category

“An amazing night at the Techies in the wonderful Sandstorm Films studios. Great to see everyone again and celebrate the diverse and amazing tech businesses in Wiltshire.” Nathan Baranowski, Digital Wonderlab

“It was a brilliant evening. Well done to all the shortlisted companies and huge congratulations to the winners. All the tech businesses who took part in The Techies 2022 are great representatives of our area. Looking forward to Techies 2023 already!” Paddy Bradley, Chair of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership

The awards are judged by some of our area’s most successful entrepreneurs and business growth partners, including, James Eades, Managing Director, Systemagic, Kat Wellum-Kent, Business Services Director at Monahans, Ali Hadavizadeh, Business Support Specialist, Acorn Biz Solutions, Mirabelle Stobbs, Programme Manager Swindon Borough Council and Kate Westbrook, Head of Commercial at Thrings Solicitors.

The panel spent hours reviewing the entries before making their final decisions. The Outstanding Contribution to Swindon and Wiltshire Tech Award was put out to a public vote, with thousands of people voting for their favourites.
