The Old Bell Hotel in Malmesbury, England’s oldest hotel in the oldest Borough in England, has announced the appointment of Executive Chef Dean Wade.
As recent winner of ‘Best Hotel in Wiltshire,’ voted by Muddy Stilettos readers, the hotel has achieved acclaim for its high design interiors, quirky treasures, uniquely furnished bedrooms, and appealing ambience.
Co-owner and CEO of The Old Bell Hotel, Kim Hanks said, “Food has always been the driving force behind our hotels. To have Executive Chef Dean Wade join and lead our team will demonstrate that Malmesbury is the place to go for delicious and exciting cuisine.
“Dean is aligned to our personal ethos of serving fresh, delicious food with an exciting and fun vibe, sourced from local suppliers who we build relationships with. He has a love for food theatre and is passionate about making a genuine difference to the world of hospitality. Dean is keen to create an apprenticeship training programme from the hotel, sharing his knowledge with new generations of budding Chefs.”
Dean’s professional career spans over 30 years including senior roles with Harvey Nichols in its London, Manchester and Leeds restaurants, fronting demos at major Food shows for the group. As Head Chef for The Ivy, Dean was responsible for all aspects of launching its Harrogate restaurant, including recruitment, training and operations. In his role as Group Chef for Provenance Inns, Dean held a comprehensive position launching many venues, including an £8 million refurbished boutique hotel, and held responsibility for overall development of the group’s menus, food standards, staff training and budget management.
When asked what he was most excited about in his new role, Dean replied, “Making The Old Bell Hotel food programme so tasty and exciting that it’s recognised as THE place to eat, while guests enjoy the fun and awesome vibe of the hotel, with it’s amazing, high design restaurant, lounges and bars.”
Dean will be at The Old Bell Hotel’s outdoor kitchen during the Malmesbury Witches Trial Event in The Cloisters on 16th & 17th July and is looking forward to meeting everyone.
