The diversity, determination and dedicated of Wiltshire’s myriad micro businesses will be celebrated across the county in December to mark national Small Business Saturday.
The Enterprise Network (TEN) has brought together the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), Chippenham, Swindon and Salisbury Business Improvement Districts and local business Chambers together for the first time to host a series of free celebration events on December 3 and 5.
On December 3, networking events will be held at five of The Enterprise Network’s Enterprise Centres including the White Horse Enterprise Centre, Trowbridge, The 3D Enterprise Centre, Lackham and at Royal Wootton Bassett, Ludgershall (nr Tidworth) and Salisbury.
On Small Business Saturday itself, December 5, TEN’s Manor House Enterprise Centre in Royal Wootton Bassett will host the first-ever Bassett Business Expo – welcoming freelance and self-employed people who work from home. Free information and advice from specialists covering finance, effective use of social media, simple website design, employing others, and getting the cash to flow, will be available.
Organiser Rachel Finlay from The Enterprise Network said: “All the events will be the ultimate in pre-Christmas business networking and we’re expecting hundreds of businesses to join the party across the county. We’re proud to have brought so many business groups together for the first time in Wiltshire – a fitting celebration of the UK economy’s local heroes. Local businesses are welcome to join us – to simply network or by taking a free stand at our Expos.”
Almost 80 per cent of all businesses in the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership area are micro businesses with less than 10 employees. The Enterprise Network (TEN), a £5.2m initiative led by Wiltshire Council with EU and Government funding, supports local people and their businesses.
Whether launching a new business or searching for your first office, TEN can help. All TEN’s Enterprise Centres across Wiltshire offer meeting and training rooms, flexible office spaces including hot-desks and co-working rooms, as well as virtual office facilities.
On Thursday December 3, the free events, open to all, and with VIP guests will include:
