With the event due to take place this Thursday (12th September), we spoke to some of the seminar leaders to find out what businesses can expect to gain from attending their sessions.

Can you provide an overview of what your seminar will include?
Lots of exciting opportunities to work with us to upskill and reskill current staff but also to source new highly skilled employees who have been through a wide variety of our short courses. There are many ways to collaborate with the Short Course Unit at Bath Spa University to meet your training needs. We run bespoke courses for businesses but also have many regular courses which employees can book to increase their CPD.
What types of businesses would benefit most from your session?
Any business that wants to upskill or reskill their employees or find a new pool of potential employees.

This seminar will give you an overview of all the exciting opportunities for us to work together to make your life easier. You tell us what training you need and we’ll make it happen!
What trends have you observed in the demand for upskilling and reskilling in today’s workforce?
We are in a very different workplace than even 10 years ago – now workers will have up to 10 different careers in their working lives. This has grown the need to upskill and reskill new and current staff members. We have seen a large increase in the number of learners coming to us wanting to change careers or to upskill within their current field. Businesses need to be open to upskilling their current staff to ensure they feel valued and stay loyal to their employer.
Will you be providing specific examples of local businesses showing how they have benefitted from upskilling their staff?
Yes! We have worked with multiple businesses to create bespoke training courses. We have also worked with many employers in the region to place our learners from various courses in their employment at the end of a training course. We have strong links with many companies in the region and hope this will continue to grow.
