With the deadline for the inaugural TBE Awards under a month away, The Business Exchange is putting the spotlight on our category sponsors.
Richardson Swift is the largest independent firm of chartered accountants and chartered tax advisers in Bath, having started from humble beginnings with just five staff 15 years ago and now employing over 40.
We caught up with Managing Director Debbie Boulton to find out more about Richardson Swift’s involvement in the Awards and the wider community.
Why did Richardson Swift decide to get behind the Awards?
We are very conscious, as a local company, that we didn’t get to this position without the support of both the local community and local businesses, and we are very grateful for that.
That’s why we’re sponsoring the TBE Awards Positive Business category. This Award honours businesses that are consciously making a positive impact in our community – giving back, whether through fundraising efforts, impactful events, green initiatives or just looking after the mental and physical health of those associated with them.
Who would you like to see enter this award?
If a business is making a positive contribution to our community – on any level – I’d love them to enter. The more we celebrate positive initiatives, the more we will spread the word of what is possible and encourage others to follow the same path!
How does Richardson Swift look to make a difference in the community?
We feel strongly that businesses that benefit from the community should be prepared to support it in return, and I hope we practise what we preach through our involvement in local initiatives.
Coming out of the post-Covid economic woes, we felt that the business community needed its own ‘friendship group’; a place to share issues, encourage each other and give and receive informal advice.
From this idea and with the wonderful support of both TBE and Thrings, we were able to launch our business support initiative The Breakfast Exchange, which has gone from strength to strength.
Our charitable sponsorship programme supports a range of organisations like Strength In Style, the Ben Saunders Foundation, Dorothy House and Julian House.
