Take part in bake off for lift off

By Anita Jaynes on 28 June, 2016

Wiltshire Air Ambulance (WAA) is encouraging businesses to get their bake on and raise money to keep its lifesaving helicopter flying and saving lives.

The charity’s theme for National Air Ambulance Week (19-25 September 2016) is Bake Off for Lift Off and it is calling on companies, plus individuals, groups and schools, to join in the bake-related fun.

Bake Off for Lift Off is sponsored by Haydens Bakery, based in Devizes.

Kenresa Stratford, Fundraising Co-ordinator at Wiltshire Air Ambulance, said: “We’re encouraging local businesses to get involved with Bake Off for Lift Off and raise some dough for Wiltshire Air Ambulance! We’ve chosen a baking theme for National Air Ambulance Week this year as we’ve found that many of our corporate supporters have raised money for us by holding cake sales.

“Holding a bake sale or bake off in the workplace is an easy and yummy way to fundraise for Wiltshire Air Ambulance. Every penny raised during Air Ambulance Week will help us to keep flying and saving lives. We’d love to hear from businesses who would like to take part in Bake Off for Lift Off. Please get in touch and we can send you everything you need to get started.

“We’d like to thank Haydens Bakery for sponsoring Bake Off for Lift Off. They have supported us for several years by fundraising and donating cakes for events and we are delighted they are supporting us during National Air Ambulance Week.”

John Larsen, Managing Director of Haydens Bakery, said: “Our bakery products are enjoyed by customers all over the country and being based in Devizes we like to support the local community. We have proudly supported Wiltshire Air Ambulance for many years and we’re delighted to sponsor such a complementary event where we can help with our expertise and knowledge for such a worthy cause.”
