Three new members have been appointed to the Board of the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP), filling roles vacated by three long-standing members as they step down.
The new appointments, which were endorsed at the SWLEP Board Meeting held on March 16, are Vic O’Brien of Heylo Housing; Marc Richard of Roger Lewis; and Adam Schallamach of Nationwide.
Vic O’Brien has worked in the housing development field for 25 years, the last 19 years of which working in Swindon, Wiltshire and the surrounding areas. He recently completed 10 years at GreenSquare Group based in Swindon as the group’s development director. He is a Chartered Member of the Institute of Housing with a strong interest in housing investment models and has recently taken up employment with Heylo Housing.
Marc Richard started his career in finance with the Swiss bank, UBS but now owns and manages Roger Lewis, the Wiltshire based makers of iconic private label sofas.
Adam Schallamach is a qualified lawyer with over 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector both at home and abroad. He has worked for Nationwide Building Society in a number of different roles since 2007.
These new appointments replace those vacated by Rob Angus of Nationwide; Nicky Alberry of Business West; and Graham Dean of Herman Miller.
The military standing Board member also changes at this time, with Brigadier Jez Bennett shortly to be posted, and his place on the Board being taken by Colonel Toby Bridge.
Announcing the new Board Members, Barry Dennington, Chair of the SWLEP said: “I’m delighted to welcome Vic, Marc and Adam to the SWLEP Board. They join with immediate effect, and bring an individual and combined wealth of knowledge and experience that will add to our Board membership and support our continued work to drive economic growth in Swindon and Wiltshire, in line with our four priorities of: Inward Investment; Supporting and stimulating existing business growth and facilitating new business set up; Job creation, education and skills; and Economic infrastructure.”
In thanking the outgoing Board Members, Barry said:“On behalf of the Board and myself, I’d like to thank Rob Angus of Nationwide, Nicky Alberry of Business West and Graham Dean of Herman Miller for their support over their tenure, and we look forward to retaining links with them for the future.”
