McArthurGlen’s Swindon Designer Outlet reports double digit growth and record breaking sales during the Christmas trading period.
Hosting over 90 high street and premium brands, the popular shopping destination saw an incredible increase in sales of 16% and 13% like-for-like sales helped by the recent long-awaited Long Shop launch, ground-breaking new play area and the flood of enticing new brands and restaurants.
The plethora of extra offers on brands that have year round savings of up to 60%, proved to be a delectable attraction helping to significantly drive footfall up by 18%.
The record smashing success of Black Friday weekend did not hamper post-Christmas spend as the centre experienced a record breaking Boxing Day with the highest turnover during the period. Savvy shoppers descended in their droves at the start of the winter sale. In particular, 26-27 December reported astounding sales uplifts of 10% and a like-for-life footfall increase of 23%.
The good run didn’t stop there as New Year’s Day saw an enormous peak in trading with sales up by 21% (LY) and 14% and a rise in footfall of 18%.
With a wealth of gifting solutions to fit any need or budget, standout product categories included products in the leisure category which saw a spike of 13% in like-for-like sales. As shoppers sought to treat loved one’s with sumptuous gifts, sales also peaked in Beauty and Lingerie with uplifts of 26% and 12% respectively.
