2015 marks 20 years of Jeans for Genes Day; and in celebration staff at The Brunel shopping centre in Swindon Town Centre are getting behind the national campaign which raises money to provide vital care and support services to children with genetic disorders in the UK.
As well as donning their denim on Friday September 18 for Jeans for Genes Day, staff at The Brunel are selling exclusive key rings featuring world-famous SpongeBob SquarePants sporting a new denim look. With four characters to collect (SpongeBob, Patrick, Gary and Sandy) and for a suggested donation of just £2 these are sure to be a sell-out success raising vital extra funds for the charity. Plus, The Brunel are also selling Jeans for Genes Day logo pin badges for a £1 donation for those who’d prefer to wear their support.
The key rings and pin badges are available now at the centre management offices on the first floor of The Brunel Plaza until the end of the year, including Jeans for Genes Day itself on Friday September 18.
Jane Stewart, marketing manager at The Brunel said: ”We’re very pleased to be able to help Jeans for Genes mark 20 years and to help raise money for such a worthy cause. I think the key rings will be very popular and it will be fun for people to collect all four characters.”
Laura Pattison, campaign director at Jeans for Genes Day said: “I’d like to thank The Brunel for promoting our SpongeBob SquarePants key rings and Jeans for Genes Day pin badges. Selling these is a very important part of our appeal as it has the potential to significantly add to the total raised on Jeans for Genes Day. In 2015, 19 charities will benefit from a Jeans for Genes Day grant to help provide the vital care and support children and families need.”
1 in 25 children in the UK is affected by a genetic disorder. Their associated health problems mean that genetic disorders are the biggest cause of death of children aged 14 and under.
