Swindon & Wiltshire LEP seeks new chair

By Anita Jaynes on 3 April, 2014

The Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership (SWLEP) is looking for a Chair to lead its activities at an exciting and strategically important time. This is a high profile voluntary role that will give the person appointed genuine influence on the prosperity and future development of the Swindon and Wiltshire areas.

Launched in late 2011, SWLEP is a partnership between Swindon Borough Council, Wiltshire Council and a wide range of private sector organisations. SWLEP’s role is to represent businesses, ensuring that enterprise and economic development are given consideration in public sector decision-making.

The area is already home to hundreds of successful companies and global brands like Dyson, Honda, Intel, Danone, BMW Mini, the National Trust and the UK Space Agency. The LEP’s role is driving forward economic growth by promoting and developing our region as the perfect location for businesses to thrive.

Over the last two years, SWLEP has developed a reputation as one of the most innovative LEPs in the country, with a strong plan in place for the future.

The next Chair will build on these successes, ensuring the strategic vision is implemented and will take the LEP forward to ensure the key delivery projects are achieved.

SWLEP is looking for someone with a proven record of successful senior level strategic management within the private sector, combined with exceptional business acumen and an understanding of working in the public sector.
