The Brunel Shopping centre, in Swindon Town Centre, has shown that their marketing is in safe hands after the centre’s Marketing Manager was shortlisted for a prestigious national industry award.

Jane Stewart is in the running to win the SCEPTRE Marketing Manager of the Year 2014 award and is competing against just four other shortlisted candidates.  The prestigious SCEPTRE Awards recognise the best practice and best people in the shopping centre industry.  Organised by Shopping Centre magazine – the retailers’ bible – the awards are considered “the pre-eminent accolades in the shopping centre industry.

Bernard Ferris, Head of UK Shopping Centres at FI Real Estate Management, who manage the centre, said that the awards were ‘the Oscars’ of the industry and he was delighted that Jane had been nominated.  “Jane has made a significant impact since her arrival at the Brunel, working with partners and key stakeholders to help put Swindon Town Centre back on the retail map.  This is great news.”

Jane was appointed Marketing Manager of The Brunel Centre in July 2013 and since her arrival has produced several large-scale successful events, such as a wedding fayre, a vintage and retro festival weekend and the recent Flour Festival.  These events substantially increased the amount of shoppers coming into the town centre.

The awards ceremony and dinner takes place on 24 June at the Dorchester Hotel in London.
