The Swindon Hub has launched a fundraising drive that aims to raise £5,000 by the end of November which will be used to keep the lights and heating on throughout the winter.
For the coming months, the Hub intends to keep supporting the local community by keeping its doors open and heating on. This will allow it to keep a safe and warm environment for all, organise more events that promote local shops, host a range of activities and workshops, and keep the café open.
Based in the old River Island building in the heart of Swindon Town Centre, The Swindon Hub – which opened in November 2021 – is a safe and accessible space for the community to meet, work, play, discuss, learn and share resources.
All donations made as part of the fundraising campaign will be used to cover the cost of gas and electricity over the winter months.
Claire Quant, Volunteer and Member of the Board of Trustees at Swindon Hub, said, “The Swindon Hub is all about making a difference to our community and is run completely by volunteers.
“Any money raised will contribute towards our efforts to keep the lights and heating on over the winter so we can continue to provide a safe space for people to socialise, network and participate in activities.”
