Swindon firm among the best in the west

A Swindon business has been named as one of the best in the west at the FSB’s Celebrating Small Business Awards 2019.

The awards, which were held at the Somerset County Cricket Ground in Taunton on Thursday 7th February, recognise the very best small businesses from across the South West and act as a precursor to the national FSB awards.

This year’s Digital Innovation Award winner was the Dr Julian Medical Group run by Swindon Hospital doctor Julian Nesbitt. The company works to provide online mental healthcare support to patients throughout the region including those living in Bristol and Swindon.

Dr Julian has brought together a range of highly experienced therapists and psychologists who are able to offer psychological therapy through online video sessions and instantaneous messaging via phone, tablet or computer.

Another Swindon business recognised in the awards was IT solutions company the Verelogic Group which was shortlisted in the very competitive International Business of the Year category.

Roger Tarrant, FSB Regional Chairman for the South West, said the event highlighted the strength, creativity and wide-ranging nature of the local SME sector.

He said, “It really was a fabulous day and it was amazing to hear all about the fantastic nominees. The businesses in the South West are just so diverse – they really do cover the whole spectrum. I hope we can now go on to see some South West winners at the national finals in London.”
