Swindon company builds support for Half Marathon

Swindon’s unique self build centre, the NSBRC, is helping to build the best Swindon Half Marathon event with the entire business supporting the day through running and volunteering.

The Half Marathon, which takes place on Sunday 11 October, is set to be one of Swindon’s best community events, with runners coming from miles around to take part, as well a Race Village providing fun for all the family.

The event is this year, for the first time, being organised by SEQOL Charity, the charitable arm of SEQOL the provider of health and social care in Swindon and the NSBRC will be raising money for the charity through taking part.

Managing Director, Harvey Fremlin, will be running in the Half Marathon and nine members of staff will be volunteering as Racemakers.

Harvey said: “Like the NSBRC, SEQOL is an employee-owned businesses and so we wanted to offer them our full support.  It is great they have a charity to support local projects. The whole team were very keen to get involved through volunteering in various roles and I will be challenging myself by running the Half. I have run the Swindon Half several times before, but it is nice this time to have all the team involved and to be able to support a local charity.”

Michelle Howard, Chair of SEQOL Charity, said: “It’s great that local businesses like the NSBRC are wholeheartedly behind Swindon Half Marathon, we really value the support and sponsorship coming through.

“The NSBRC’s generosity in both running and providing Racemakers is immense and we look forward to cheering Harvey on over the finish line.”

The Swindon Half Marathon takes place on 11 October 2015 and comprises the 13.1 mile Half Marathon as well as a five mile multi-terrain race, a two mile fun run and one kilometre wheelchair race.
