Swindon Centre expands its ‘Trade Village’ & footfall rises

Swindon’s National Self Build & Renovation Centre (NSBRC) has reported a 10% year-on-year increase in the number of new and renewal exhibitor contracts for the period January-March 2014.  In addition, the Centre also experienced a 95% increase in visitor footfall for the same period, giving a strong indication that taking on a self-build or renovation project is an attractive proposition to home ownership.

Since opening in 2007, the NSBRC has established itself as a Centre of Excellence with the unique proposition of being the UK’s only permanent visitor and education Centre for self-build, renovation and home improvement.  It annually attracts over 20,000 visitors, including colleges and universities and offers a comprehensive programme of workshops and courses throughout the year.  The NSBRC also hosts three major shows throughout the year, with the new National Self Build & Renovation Show held in February contributing to its Q1 visitor growth.

In addition to those manufacturers, suppliers and installers taking permanent trade stand space at the Centre, there are now several prominent companies calling the NSBRC ‘home’.  These include Ecomerchant, Dale Windows, Fleming Homes, Tyrone Timber Frames and Westworks which operate out of fully serviced and managed offices within the Centre.

Nikki Tollafield, Marketing Manager, added “We are delighted to report this growth which reflects an improvement in market conditions and increased confidence.  Not only have we established a strong reputation for delivering quality, genuine business leads for businesses with over 60% of visitors arriving with a live project, but  visitors can benefit from free, independent advice six days a week throughout the year.”
