Swindon businesses: Is a skills shortage holding back your company?

By Anita Jaynes on 17 March, 2015

Your workforce is your enabler to business growth. Is a skills shortage holding back your company?

Swindon’s workforce is losing ground on the skills individuals require to keep up with industry needs. There is already a shortage of adequately skilled applicants in the area with competitors headhunting skilled workers from you now.

If not addressed it will result in the following:

·        An increase in skilled staff being headhunted by competitors
·        An increase in salary scales and benefits to entice the right skilled applicants and to keep the present workforce with the company

·        An increase in relocation packages to entice those living out of the area to the role
·        Increased business disruption as the workforce attend training courses out of the area

Swindon Borough Council, the Swindon and Wiltshire Local Enterprise Partnership and Business West want you to have your say by completing their survey.

This survey presents a key opportunity for Swindon businesses to drive change and shape local training provision in the area. Filling any skills gaps and shortages for the future and benefiting the business, industry sector and Swindon as a whole.
