To mark International Women’s Day 2024, which takes place every year on 8th March, we’re celebrating some of Swindon and Wiltshire’s most inspiring women.
Through our website and social media channels, we asked our readers which women in our community inspire them and created a list of 20. The list will be printed in our spring magazine and from Friday 1st March, every weekday throughout the month we are profiling and championing each of these fantastic women online and via our social feeds.
Today we put the spotlight on Louise Carver…
Louise is a former senior RAF officer and a very experienced Learning and Development Specialist, skilled workplace mediator and leadership coach. She is the Co-founder of Chippenham-based Resolution Space Ltd, a women-owned and veteran-owned business, which helps leaders and their teams to build and sustain inclusive and respectful working relationships so they can focus on their shared purpose. Louise is passionate about enabling others to thrive and make the most of their talents, and this is evident in everything that she does. Her voluntary work includes the demanding role of Chair of the Board of Trustees at the largest secondary school in Wiltshire and supporting the local Rotary Club, working on projects to support local communities.
One of her nominations said, “Louise is a great example of someone who puts in more than she takes out. With her business partner Kate, her company Resolution Space has supported both Content Coms, where I work and Dementia Carers Count, a national charity that I chair.
“I’d love Louise to be shortlisted for this award – she thoroughly deserves it. She also does a good job of leading whilst avoiding the spotlight so it would be great to see it shining on her for once!”
Louise added, “I’m delighted and honoured to have been nominated alongside so many incredibly accomplished and committed women. International Women’s Day is an opportunity for us all to celebrate the women in our networks who just quietly and selflessly get on with supporting each other and doing great things in their communities and organisations.
“I’d like to thank the brilliant women in my life, especially my colleagues, my clients and my team of governors; it is a huge privilege to work with them and I could not achieve what I do without their wisdom and support.”
Goughs Solicitors are proud sponsors of this feature. Goughs have a strong female team and work with many female business owners across the area. The team are getting behind this feature as it’s a great opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in our community.
