Swindon and Wiltshire’s most inspiring women 2024 | Diane Banister

By Nick Batten on 4 March, 2024

To mark International Women’s Day 2024, which takes place every year on 8th March, we’re celebrating some of Swindon and Wiltshire’s most inspiring women.

Through our website and social media channels, we asked our readers which women in our community inspire them and created a list of 20. The list will be printed in our spring magazine and from Friday 1st March, every weekday throughout the month we are profiling and championing each of these fantastic women online and via our social feeds.

Today we put the spotlight on Diane Banister…

Diane is the Managing Director of Intelligent Dialogue, a Royal Wootton Bassett-based training and development company which is known for helping people build the confidence and skills to take the action that will get results.

Primarily focused on helping people and businesses to be successful and achieve their goals, she has a real knack for tuning into both people and organisations, achieving buy-in at all levels.

Diane is valued by clients in sectors such as manufacturing, distribution, plant hire and engineering.

With an ethos centred on helping clients to succeed, grow and be profitable, she has a clear set of values that have shaped the business and the way it works. Intelligent Dialogue works with small clients up to businesses with £10bn turnover, and as well as working locally, the firm works nationally and internationally.

One of her nominators said, “I look up to Diane because no matter what business or life throws at her, she is always looking for ways to keep moving forward. Her drive and passion inspire others, and she always has time to share her thoughts and experiences.”

Diane added, “Being voted as an Inspirational Woman in the Business Exchange South West poll means a lot to me. As a woman who has run her own business since 1992, I’m grateful to live in a society where I’ve had the opportunity to build a business and to work with a huge variety of clients who have appreciated and listened to the experience I bring to help them develop their people and grow their businesses.

“I am very conscious that there has been huge progress for women in the UK, a fact sadly not replicated everywhere, and there are some social attitudes that have shown just how fragile those rights continue to be. IWD is a celebration of what has been achieved together with the encouragement to keep pushing forward.”
