Members of the SwICC Six corporate team have been presented with their trophies, having been crowned the winners of the Prepay Solutions Corporate Challenge race in the Swindon Half Marathon.
The team comprised Emma Hakes, Ruth Bailey, Joanna Foster, James McKernan, Harry Sutton and Carol Roddy. As Emma and Ruth took first and second place respectively in the female corporate entries and Harry placed third in the male corporate entries, they won the accolade of fastest corporate team.
The SwICC Six were representing the Swindon Intermediate Care Centre (SwICC), which works with patients before they are discharged from hospital to ensure that they have the support and skills at home to continue to stay well.
The corporate challenge race was sponsored by PrePay Solutions, a leading European prepaid and payment services company based in Swindon town centre. Prepay Solutions were also the winners of the five mile multi-terrain Corporate Challenge race.
Michelle Howard, chair of SEQOL Community Foundation, said: “Congratulations to the SwICC Six for taking the title as fastest corporate team.
“I’d also like to thank PrePay Solutions for their sponsorship of the corporate challenge. It’s important that as a town we all come together to support health and fitness and having their support has meant that lots more companies have taken up the challenge and we hope that they will continue their sporting efforts.”
Julian Brand, company secretary of PrePay Solutions and individual winner of the five mile multi-terrain corporate challenge race, said: “At PPS, we want to be a great company. .
Our employees are the key to our success and we work very hard to ensure we have an environment where people can grow and develop within their career .. It is also just as important that our working environment is fun and that our employees are healthy, so we actively promote health and wellbeing initiatives including running and cycling events.
We were delighted to be able to support the Swindon Half Marathon corporate challenge as a way of encouraging our employees to run or continue to run and also to promote health and well-being initiatives to companies across Wiltshire.”
