Sweeping pensions changes to come under spotlight

By Anita Jaynes on 19 February, 2015

Sweeping changes to the pensions system being introduced in April will come under scrutiny at an event being staged by popular Swindon networking group Business Village.

Joe Anderson, a financial adviser with Royal Wootton Bassett-based Anderson Wealth Management, will explore the new-look system, during a presentation to Business Village on Thursday March 5.

From April, people over the age of 55 will no longer be limited to taking just 25 per cent of their pensions as a tax-free lump sum, with the rest generally invested in an annuity. They’ll be able to access their entire pension, but need to be aware of the tax implications of doing so.

Joe’s talk, called A New Era of Pensions Flexibility, will explore the changes and their implications. His presentation will take place during the regular Business Village meeting.

Business Village meets each Thursday for breakfast and networking at The Campanile Hotel, on the Delta Business Park, from 7.30-9am. The group charges no membership fee, just £10 per visit, and all are welcome. To book visit www.businessvillage.org
